Eastbourne petrol station raid

Two teenagers threatened a member of staff at the Price Watch Petrol Station in Trinity Trees before fleeing empty handed.

The suspects, wearing hoodies and tracksuits, went into the store at around 8.30pm and threatened the 62-year-old male cashier. The victim refused to hand over money and both suspects fled in the direction of Trinity Trees towards the seafront.

Officers with police dogs searched the surrounding area but the suspects were not located.

DC Andrew Mountford-Laker of East Sussex CID said, “Fortunately the victim was not injured and was able to raise the alarm very soon after the incident.

“Officers are continuing with house to house enquiries and viewing CCTV. I would urge anyone who has any information that could help police with their enquires to please get in touch. You can call 101 quoting serial 1627 of 12/10 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“One of the suspects is described as white and the other black. Both boys are aged between 15 and 18.”

No other staff or customers were on the premises at the time of the incident.
