The fun run, held on Sunday, saw runners brave the wet weather to race from Treasure Island to the Wish Tower.

The run was in aid of WayfinderWomen, a group which holds social meetings to help women in the workplace and offers a range of advice on employability and other topics.

Mrs Ansell said, “Despite the weather it was a pleasure to be out on the seafront with my loud hailer getting everyone over the start line,

“WayfinderWomen do a super job helping women and young girls throughout their working lives using support groups, training and other events, and so thanks to everyone for turning up and taking part in the fundraiser.”

Laura Murphy, from the charity, added, “The rain held off for the actual fun run, if not either side of it. A hardy group turned up.

“Thanks to CORS Relations for organising it and to Caroline for saying ready, steady go!”
