Eastbourne man wanted in connection with knifepoint robbery

Detectives need to trace a man from Eastbourne who is wanted in connection with a serious knifepoint robbery.

Police want to speak to Steven Stewart, 30, from Eastbourne about the robbery of a man in the Langney area of the town in the early hours of Tuesday April 28. A large kitchen knife was used to threaten the man before items were stolen from him.

Stewart is described as white, around 5’ 9”, and athletically built. He has short dark brown hair and blue eyes, with a tattoo of two boys’ names in the centre of his neck and a girl’s name on his right hand. He also has a tattoo of a bulldog with a flag behind it, on his right arm.

Detective Constable Dan Thomson said, “This offence has had a serious impact on the victim and we are keen to trace Stewart as quickly as possible. He has connections in Eastbourne and in the Crystal Palace area of London. If seen, members of the public should not approach him but should dial 999 immediately.”
