An Eastbourne man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for stealing £40,000 worth of designer clothes in an early morning smash and grab.

Daniel Isaacs, of Marine Parade, pleaded guilty to burglary at Lewes Crown Court on Friday, August 1 after the court heard he took the clothes from the Profile store on Dukes Lane in Brighton on May 12 this year.

The 31-year-old was arrested in Nottingham after police traced a car linked to the burglary.

Detective constable Richard Valder-Davis said, “We have been able to recover around half of the items stolen and hold Isaacs accountable for his part in the burglary for which he was sentenced to 18 months.

“We know Isaacs worked with other people and we are urging anyone who has information to contact us. This can be done anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
