An Eastbourne man has been banned from the road.
Benjamin Chalk was visited by police on June 14 after officers were tipped off that a drunk man had just been served at a petrol station in Willingdon and had then driven off in a Mercedes ML.
The officers traced the vehicle to the 37-year-old’s address but he denied having driven it and refused to be breathalysed so was arrested at 9.45pm.
Chalk, of Woodland Avenue, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis when he appeared at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on June 24.
He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £860 and ordered to pay £235 costs and a £86 victim surcharge.
