Eastbourne man assaulted after challenging youths

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man who challenged a group of youths was assaulted in Eastbourne on Sunday morning (March 27).

Police say the victim – a man in his 30s – had challenged a group of eight to 12 youths about anti-social behaviour in Ethelred Close before the assault took place at around 12.40am.

The victim suffered injuries to his arm and face and was taken to Eastbourne DGH for treatment.

Police believe a single suspect carried out the attack. He is described as white, aged between 15 and 20, between 5ft 6in and 5ft 10in tall, with blondish hair, short at the sides and spiked up on top.

He was wearing a blue/grey t-shirt, blue jeans and white trainers.

Police are interested in speaking to anyone who may have been part of the group he was with.

Anyone who saw what happened or who may have other information is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phonel 101 quoting serial 0048 of 27/03.
