The game GiAnt, designed by Adam Reed, sees players take on the role of an ant hunting for sweets across giant spaces - all while being chased by a variety of bigger, nastier bugs.

To fund his work Adam has pitched the game on popular crowd-funding site Kickstarter in hopes of raising £4,000 - with a variety of rewards depending on the amount pledged.

Adam said, “The main aim in GiAnt is to find the Candy Pieces, but you soon realise nothing is as simple as it sounds. Along with puzzles to solve and areas to work out how to get to as a tiny ant, you are being chased. A lot.

“It seems as if the whole world is against our hero as spine-chilling spiders, flies, wasps, centipedes and even moths chase you, beat and bite you until your five little lives are gone and the level resets.

“It’s a harsh world for a little ant, but it can be a lot of fun.”

The game has already been approved for sale on Steam, the world’s biggest online game store, after passing through its GreenLight process.

A demo of the game is available now from Steam at Steam.
