Eastbourne driver arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after serious smash

A 25-year-old from Eastbourne has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after a crash left a man with head injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the collision between a car and motorbike on the A267 Tunbridge Wells Road, near Mayfield, on Saturday (December 5).

A Nissan Qashqai travelling south collided with a Honda CB600 motorbike travelling north at 4.35pm.

The driver of a the motorbike, a 36-year-old man from Tonbridge, Kent, suffered serious head and leg injuries and was flown to St George’s Hospital, Tooting.

The driver of the Nissan was injuried. He was questioned and bailed until January 30.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police by emailing collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or ring 101 quoting Operation Kingsand.
