Eastbourne book fair will include double book launch

EASTBOURNE Writes Book and Writing Fair will be taking place on Wednesday April 25th, starting at 1pm at Saffrons Sports Club

The fair, which is part of the Eastbourne Festival, will feature the Eastbourne Writes Competition 2012 on the theme of ‘The Day After’, with the winners having their work published by My Voice Publishing of Eastbourne.

Two books are being launched at the event.

‘My Life With The Stars’ features celebrities who Eastbourne author Tony Flood has interviewed during 46 years as a journalist, including Muhammad Ali, George Best, Britt Ekland, Patsy Kensit and June Whitfield, and new anecdotes on Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, Joan Collins and a host of others.

There is the additional launch of the Compilation Book ‘Write by the Sea’ by local writing group the ‘Coast Writers,’ filled with a variety of work to amuse, entice, enthrall and surprise, with profits going to local charities.

The book fair will also include workshops by writers and illustrators - Cliff Wright, illustrator of Harry Potter books and others; Nicholas Royle, writer of Quilt and Professor of Literature at Sussex University and Sarah Salway, a tutor at the Open University and talks by writers Vanessa Gebbie, author of The Coward’s Tale and Short Circuit, and Nigel Goodall, celebrity biography writer who has written about Kylie Minogue, Cliff Richard, Ray Winstone and others.
