Bosses behind the new Aldi store in Hampden Park have changed their demands over delivery times – for a second time.
Originally the store applied for permission for deliveries to be made to the store, which is to be built on the former Cosmetica site in Faraday Close, between 7am-9pm Monday to Saturday and 10am-6pm on Sunday.
That permission was granted but earlier in the summer an application was made to Eastbourne Borough Council planners to relax planning conditions so it could have deliveries at anytime of the day or night.
But after a backlash from residents the store has changed its request for deliveries to be made between 5am and 11pm seven days a week.
A spokesperson at Eastbourne Borough Council said consultation was still ongoing and a decision would be made by the council’s planning committee in the coming weeks.
Demolition work at the site is now well underway.
