DYW: Old Town - January 26, 2011

EASTBOURNE Storytellers start the New Year with Milky Way, as a tasty morsel, for the theme of stories in the first part of the meeting on Wednesday January 26 at 7.30pm at The Drive Pub, Victoria Drive.

The usual pick and mix of stories will follow after the break. Entry is free (with a voluntary collection) and all newcomers are welcome.

A FARMERS market takes place at the Community Wise Centre, Ocklynge Road on the morning of Saturday, January 29, 10am-12.30pm.

This popular monthly market sells wonderful homemade pies, cakes and foods along with free range eggs, locally produced meats, cheeses, breads and vegetables.

Plants will be on sale as well as a variety of locally made crafts.

With low cost refreshments available, including homemade soup, don’t miss it! Come for your weekly shopping and be amazed.

THE MOTCOMBE Women’s Institute branch meets at the Community Wise Centre on Thursday February 3 at 6.45pm. This month the guest speaker will be Mr S McNab and he will be discussing, The Work of the Coastguard.

Come along and see what this friendly WI has to offer.

New members are always welcome, just come along and see for yourself.

THE NEXT meeting of Family Roots, the Eastbourne and District Family History Society, will be on Thursday, February 3, when Lady Teviot will be giving a talk on Wills and Administration.

The meeting is at Ocklynge School, Victoria Drive, Eastbourne, BN20 8XN, (entrance in Farlaine Rd) 7.15pm for 7.30pm.

At Family Roots they have book and library stands, a help desk with advice freely available for those researching their family tree.
