SUNDAY SERVICES on January 23, The Third Sunday of Epiphany, start at 9.15am with Holy Communion (CW) at Trinity Church Upper Dicker, St Peter & St Paul’s at Hellingly have Holy Communion (CW) at 10.45 and Evensong at 6.30pm.

MICHELHAM PRIORY GHOST WALK is on Thursday January 20 from 7pm till 9pm (including a break with refreshments).

Numerous paranormal sightings and unexplained phenomena at Michelham Priory are reported every year, earning it the reputation of being one of the most haunted buildings in East Sussex.

Although the tales of terror are not for the faint-hearted, this walking tour is done at a gentle pace and with a touch of good humour!

THE FAMILY SOCIAL CLUB meets at Emmanuel church hall on the last Saturday of the month from 6pm until 8pm.

The next get together then is on January 29 when you can enjoy an evening out with your family, shoot pool, a game of snooker, dominoes, cards, scribbling and drawing and lots more. Share some refreshments and make new friends. Emmanuel church is on Hawkswood opposite the shopping parade.

HELLINGLY PARISH COUNCIL website has been experiencing an IT problem and it has not been possible to update it for a while.

The parish clerk, Phillip Moon, tells me it should be resolved shortly.

HAILSHAM PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY meets weekly on Thursdays from 7.30pm at Hellingly village hall. More than 50 members and guests were entertained by Dr Colin Tourle, a club member for 40 years.

At 11 years old his father gave him a Kodak Coronet Camera. His first picture was of the front of his house, the car and the cat sitting on it.

He takes his current camera on all his trips abroad when he works with the charities IASIS Medical (meaning cure) and Unicef. He has also worked in Northern Zambia with the Flying Doctors Service.
