ARLINGTON DAY: Tomorrow and Sunday at Arlington village hall there will be all sorts of activities going on from 12 noon to 10.30pm. There is a free Arts & Crafts show on both days. Picnic on the Arlington village hall field from 12 noon until 5pm. Bring family friends and a picnic and join in games on the field. Also from 12 noon to 5pm there will be live music from talented local and not so local folk acts while you picnic courtesy of Uckfield FM’s Folk is Not a Rude Word show. Then from 7pm it’s the return of Arlington Gets Cajun with Cajun Dawgs & Friends, Strum n Bass, Cajun Dance Workshop, bar and barbecue all in the marquee on the Arlington village hall field. CRAFT FAIR: At Michelham Priory on Thursday 6 to Sunday 9 August from 10.30am to 5pm, the Sussex Guild Craft Fair of contemporary craft from local artists will be on show and for sale. Selected for their high degree of skill and creativity, Guild members will be showing their excellent and inspiring work in the Elizabethan barn and in marquees on the lawns. There will be craft demonstrations too, including blacksmithing, woodturning, embroidery and quilting together with several potters showing different aspects of their craft. You will discover spectacular examples of ceramics, textiles, jewellery, wood, glass, furniture and more. Most of the work can be purchased, or possibly specially commissioned.
