SUMMER IN BLOOM: On Saturday 27 June there is a 90 minute Garden Tour at Michelham Priory exploring the seven acres of historic gardens as they are in full bloom, with the head gardener, James Neil. Price includes entrance to the house and grounds, tour and soup and fresh bread roll in the café. Tour starts at 11am. £15 for Non-members. £10 for Sussex Archaeological Society Members and Friends of Michelham Priory. Numbers are limited so please book in advance. Call 01323 844224 or email

BALL GAMES: Continued vandalism of the No Ball Games sign was a concern at the recent Parish Council meeting. The PC represent all villagers and do not allow ball games on this site due to the possible damage to people’s property, the risk to those playing with the ball when trying to retrieve it next to a busy road and the risk to drivers. There is a large recreation ground nearby which is a lot more suitable (and safer) for ball games. Following concerns expressed by the public, the Parish Council decided against introducing a Byelaw at the Village Green and will continue to monitor whether the sign acts as sufficient deterrent against ball games being played.

FENCING: The PC has listened to residents’ concerns regarding fencing at the village green and is looking at the cost of having a planted border which will hopefully still keep vehicles off the village green. The PC has also put together Terms of Use for events on the village green.

FATHERS DAY LUNCH: Treat your dad to a two or three course lunch this Father’s Day at Michelham Priory. Meal includes tea, coffee, mints and free have-a-go archery for dad plus entry into the house & gardens. Pre booking and deposit required – call 01323 844224 or email
