Stone Cross, Westham and Hankham

THE HAVEN PLAYERS: PRODUCTIONS are always well supported and rightly so as their enthusiasm is 100% and you can always been assured of a good evenings entertainment. The latest production called Generations showed the different types of music over the years. This was definitely very different to their usual shows but the group were able to change the tempo and style of song smoothly and seamlessly. The older songs certainly brought back some happy memories but some of the more modern ones were equally good and it is diifficult to pick out personal favourites. Whether you preferred “Bear Necessities” which was delightfully performed, the outstanding “Cell Block Tango”, the excellent “Whichdoctor” or the great Western style: there was something for everyone’s taste. This was a show that proved although there has been a difference in the type of song and dance over the Generations, it is still possible to mix the two together and produce an excellent programme. The show allowed all ages to perform the type of music that they enjoy. The whole evening worked very well indeed and was very much appreciated by the audience. The next production will be the Pantomime “Dick Whittington and his Cat” which will be January 23rd – 30th. Tickets will be on sale from 1st October, on line or by telephoning 01323 460174. Make sure you have these dates in your diary as you can be sure of an excellent show.

THE STONE CROSS COMMUNITY Market: has been located in the Memorial Hall since August once they had been closed down by St Luke’s Church. There will be a short break during the month of October as the organisers are on holiday but arrangements have been made with Red Lion to make use of their Amenity Room, starting on Friday November 6, when there should be a good selection of stalls in the run up to the Christmas period. It is hoped that as many people who supported the Market in the Parish Centre will go along and visit the new location.

THE EASTBOURNE ORGAN AND Keyboard Club: will be meeting in Westham Village Hall on Tuesday October 6 at 7.30 pm, when Kevin Grunell will be the artiste on the keyboard. Always a popular event, these concerts are well worth attending.
