LUNCHTIME CONCERT: At St Leonard’s Church tomorrow, Saturday, from 1pm. Dr Alan Thurlow will be performing an Organ recital. He was Master of the Choristers at Chichester Cathedral from 1980 to 2008 also a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists and the Royal School of Church Music. On his retirement from Chichester Cathedral in 2008 Alan received a Civic Award from the City of Chichester. The concert last approximately one hour and entry is free although there is a retiring collection.

RNLI: Newhaven Lifeboat and Coastguard Helicopter Display of Seaford Beach on Sunday from 10.30am to noon. Water display with live commentary. Free to watch, donations would be very much appreciated

OPEN GARDEN: On Sunday from 1pm to 5pm at 2 Barons Close. In aid of East Sussex Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service. Grand raffle.

FLOWER CLUB: Seaford Evening Flower Club have a stall at The Local Market, Clinton Hall on Tuesday from 10.30am to 2.30pm selling fresh flower posies, vases, glassware and there will be a tombola. Proceeds to the club and their chosen charity St James Trust. New members always welcomed.

LECTURES: East Blatchington Lectures have their next lecture on Tuesday at St Peter’s Church, Belgrave Road starting at 2.30pm. The lecture is about Richard III one of the country’s most controversial kings, by Dr Phil Stone who is chairman of the Richard III Society. Tickets are £7 and are available from Newberry Tully Estate Agent, Church Street.

COUNCIL MEETING: Planning and Highways Committee will be meeting at Seaford Town Council, 37 Church Street on Thursday from 7pm

SUMMER FOOD SWAP: Seaford Summer Food Swap is on Saturday July 18, 10am at Seven Sisters Public House, Alfriston Road so don’t forget to register with Adele 01323 492995 or Di 01323 897897 also to make enquiries how to get involved with this popular event. It’s all about swapping your homemade, home-grown, homebrewed items. It’s free all you have to do is register before the day.
