FILM FORUM: will meet this evening (Friday) in the Brodie Hall of Christ Church at 7pm to view a full length feature film, followed by a short general discussion. SEASIDE NEIGHBOURHOOD PANEL: will hold a public meeting on Wednesday July 1 in St Agnes Church hall, Whitley Road, starting at 7pm. The group has now been running for six years and all residents with any concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour in this area are encouraged to attend to air their views. Representatives from the police and members of the local council will be present. Neighbourhood Panels are all about finding long-term solutions to problems and working together to resolve them. Priorities set at the last meeting were: dog fouling in and around the Eshton Road area; cycling on the footpaths, particularly along Seaside; the bus stop on Royal Parade, near to Channel View Road, to be made more prominent with improved road markings. THE WALSINGHAM CELL: meets for a Mass in the Memorial Chapel of Christ Church on Monday July 6 at 6.15pm. Refreshments will follow the service. For details about Cell membership and the annual pilgrimages to Walsingham, call 728522.

AN EXHIBITION: of some of Danny La Rue’s costumes and wigs, plus photographs and memorabilia including his OBE and his This Is Your Life red book , will be held in the Sovereign Suite of the Langham Hotel on July 8, 9 and 10 from 10am-4pm each day. DANNY LA RUE: will be the theme of the next Ladies’ Lunch Club lunches on Thursday July 9 and Friday July 10 at the Langham Hotel, Royal Parade, at 12 noon for 12.30pm, when Annie Galbraith and Steven Metcalfe will be the guest speakers. Annie designed and made Danny’s costumes for over 30 years. She and Steven will be speaking about Working with Danny La Rue. Bookings are now being taken for a lunch on Tuesday July 21 when American singer/songwriter Gerard Kenny will be speaking about his life and singing some of his hit songs, including New York, New York.

A QUIZ NIGHT: will be held in St Augustine’s Hall of Christ Church on Saturday July 11 starting at 7.30pm. Played in teams of six, the cost is £8 per person – which includes a Ploughman’s supper. Tickets are on sale now and places can be booked by calling Meg on 487229.
