PEVENSEY BAY LIBRARY: has now reopened and this Saturday there will be an informal open day. There will be tea and biscuits and childrens activities. Now the Library is open again it needs the support of the local community to make sure this asset stays open.

PEVENSEY COURT HOUSE MUSEUM AND GAOL :Fancy spending some time in Gaol? You will get let out at 4pm. The Court House needs volunteers to help run the museum so if you have any time spare why not nip in and have a word. On another note the Court House now have an active facebook page so you can look online and catch up with what’s going on and if you have never actually visited its well worth while with displays and exhibits giving a wealth of information on the history of Pevensey and Sussex.

PRIORY COURT HOTEL: there will be the third monthly Charity Quiz Night being held on the 21st. The quiz starts at 7.30, a maximum number of six people in a team and also prizes for first, second and third. Also a Raffle., This months Charity is Chestnut Tree House. Previous charities have been Kent Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance and St Nicolas 800 Restoration Appeal (photo attachedof cheque hand over to St Nicolas fund)

VANDALISM: The end of August saw vandalism at the childrens play area in Waverley Gardens. The multiplay equipment had some of the safety barriers kicked out and the floor of the platform had a plank completely ripped out. The damage will amount to at least £500 although the unit has been made safe in the meantime. If you saw or heard anything then please I nform the police on 101.

CASTLE COTTAGE TEAROOMS: After a gap of several years is once again reopen. Cakes and tea in proper china cups! Mind you, I thought the hot chocolate and chocolate brownie with cream was a good option! Its nice to see the centre of the village starting to improve again -the only thing left is to make sure the Mint House does not stand in a dilapidated state. The front is overgrown and the medieval wall paintings cannot possibly have fared well
