Pevensey and Pevensey Bay

ST NICOLAS PEVENSEY: Will be hosting their first Concert as part of the Church’s 800th anniversary fundraising programme on April 23rd, this Saturday, at 7pm. Performing will be Harveys Brass, a ten piece symphonic Brass Ensemble which was originally sponsored by Harveys Brewery. They will be playing a repertoire of well known classical music and modern music. Tickets are available from George Stephens 01424 216651 or or purchase at the door.

PEVENSEY LITTER PICK: Several people turned up the other Saturday to pick up litter around Pevensey. The result was several litter bags worth of rubbish from plastic bottles, sweet wrappers and even a mop! Its hoped the litter picks in Pevensey and the Bay might become regular events. It is depressing whilst walking back from the litter pick there were already discarded rubbish on the newly cleaned pavements -so if you are driving through our villages either stop at a litter bin or stop throwing rubbish out of the window. It was interesting in the news recently a Government Minister suggested disposable Coffee Cups be charged rather like Supermarket Bags, maybe if there was a cost of a few pence they would not be jettisoned out the car windows as traffic slowed down at the traffic Lights or on Pevensey High Street.

PEVENSEY INFORMATION DAY: Don’t forget on this Saturday, April 23rd between 10am and 2pm Pevensey Information day will be taking place. There are over forty different organisations taking part, in fact so many the venues will be both St Wilfrid’s Hall and the Baptist Church opposite. So if you are interested in starting a new hobby, looking for a social group or even doing some volunteering there is sure to be something of interest. EU DEBATE: Now campaigning for the EU Referendum has started officially its worth remembering there will be a Debate on Thursday June 16th at Priory Court Hotel at 7.30. It will only be a week before the vote and is part of seven such debates organised by the local MP Huw Merriman who says the debates will allow local people a chance to hear local campaigners arguments for and against staying in the EU

PEVENSEY GHOST WALK: Still running every Saturday at 7.30pm from the Castle Car Park. Although please call 07740 828215 to check as it seems to have rained on every Saturday for the past month.
