MIRANDA THE MERMAID: did not get washed up in Pevensey Bay but was actually the winner of the Scarecrow Contest. The Judge was Cllr Pam Doodes who had arranged scarecrow festivals In Hooe. The winner was Miranda made by Maggie Pragnall with a little help from her Mum Rose Parker, the mermaid had washed in right the way to Westham High Street ! The Best Commercial Scarecrow was Anglers Den with It Was This Big and highly commended was Pets2go2grooming, Bay Hotel. Best by a group of organisation was Watch Manager Waves by Pevensey Fire Station. Also highly commended was Lifeboat, Derandia (Anderida WI) and best children’s Scarecrow was Kate’s Surfer Sal. There were other Catagories from Most Amusing won by Nobby by Shirley Clark. Judges Choice was Wallsend Fisherman Wotta lotta Fish. PEVENSEY PARISH GRAND SUMMER FETE: will be taking place at Pevensey Memorial Hall on August 22nd this year from 11 till 2.30 and the following weekend will mark the Flower Festival at St Nicolas Church running from the 29th to 31st August
