CASTLE COTTAGE :The ‘To Let’ signs have disappeared at Castle Cottage and the Agent lists the property as being currently under offer although there are no forthcoming details on what when or who may be renting the property. If it has only taken a few months to let the property why was it left by English Heritage for so many years. With two pubs serving food and a Tearooms at Priory Court, English Heritage are still keeping everyone in the dark?

SCARECROWS: if you are travelling into the Bay or Pevensey late at night you may get a scare from the effigies strung up to fences and signs. In fact this is not some strange local punishment but part of the Scarecrow Festival run by Pevensey Villages Partnership for 18 July to 1 August. If you take a look at the website you will find out how to make your scarecrow, how to enter into the Competiton and all the Scarecrow Events

Pevensey Village Partnership: are opening the Scarecrow Festival with a walk from the Star Inn to the. Moorings Restaurant where a free breakfast will be served on July 18 at 8.00. The walk is along a rural footpath to the Beach at Nor,and Bay where low tide will allow an easy flat walk to the Moorings. Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead on the footpath. FIRE STATION OPEN DAY: Pevensey Fire Station will be holding an open day on August 1 Saturday from 10 - 16.00 with an invitation to go down and meet your local Firefighters. Events include RTC Exercise, Crash Simulator, Welephant and the Station Scarecrow.

CASTLEFEST at the Castle Inn: 25 and 26 July promises a weekend of Family Fun including 9 hours of live bands. Featuring The Southern Blues Kings, The Million Dollar Bash, Howlin’ Blues Band, Cold Shot, The Beagles, Covernation, The Sound of the Crowd, Mick and Rob Motown Swing Duo There will also be a Children’s fairground.
