PEACEHAVEN WI: On September 17 we celebrated the centenary of the Women’s Institute in great style. The Mayor of Peacehaven and Kathryn Hutson, Chairman of the East Sussex Federation, joined us for an excellent lunch, after which we were entertained by Rick Bonner singing songs we all knew and enjoyed. October’s annual meeting started, as ever, with the beautifully prepared ploughman’s lunch, followed by the secretary’s report on our activities during the past year. The treasurer’s financial statement was given and we were glad to know that we are still solvent. Then it was the president’s turn to thank everyone for their support and help throughout the year. The afternoon was rounded off by a fun quiz.
We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting on November 4. (Joy Allen).
