Old Town

HERE’S A COFFEE MORNING: With a twist. Tomorrow, Saturday, from 10am the Greenfield Methodist Church in Old Town will be open for everyone to enjoy an hour of good coffee and some tasty cake with time to make purchases from a variety of items on the Bring and Buy stall. Following this from 11am to noon there will be an opportunity to find out some interesting things they did not know about Rev Paul Tabraham as he selects some of his wide choice of music that he would pick should he be a castaway on a desert island with a CD player and a power supply. Between his choices of music Ted Cassell will be asking him the reasons for his selection and other questions regarding his life and interests. This promises to be not only of interest but a very entertaining morning for everyone.

COMMUNITY WISE: In Ocklynge Road, will be holding a Christmas for Less Market on Saturday November 28 from 10am to 12.30pm. Father Christmas has marked this date on his calendar already and will be in attendance to meet people and see the interesting stalls filling the centre. Many local craft and goods enterprises will be represented. One of the aims of Community Wise is to serve the community and promote community spirit. The facilities have recently undergone extensive refurbishment and upgrading which has significantly expanded the available space. There are very many regular activities and events for all ages in the centre each week. This Christmas Market at Community Wise is an annual event and proves year after year to be very popular and very well supported. It is a great opportunity to buy gifts and prepare for Christmas without spending huge sums of money; there will be a bumper gift stall and all kinds of items for sale, including locally produced and grown food and hand-made craft items. Entry is free and refreshments will be available. The Christmas for Less Christmas market at Community Wise will be an enjoyable opportunity to get ready for Christmas and to engage with the local community. Everyone will be very welcome.
