SUNDAY SERVICES: 9.15am Holy Communion Upper Dicker. On Sunday September 13, the Vicar will be asking Any Upper Dicker Questions? The 9.15am service will include a time for Questions and Answers. The sermon slot is often all one way, but on this occasion the congregation is being asked to bring questions that the Vicar can give comment on and for others to chip in. GHOST WALK: On Monday from 7pm to 8.30pm there is a 90 minute walk in and around the grounds of Michelham Priory. Stories of ghosts and paranormal activity, together with a little of the history and characters of the priory’s past and presented with a little humour from Sussex’s premier paranormal entertainment company, Sussex Darkside. BASKETRY WEEKEND: The Sussex Archaeological Society are running a Reed Mace (bulrush) Basketry course on Saturday September 5 from 10.30am to 4.30pm and on Sunday September 6 10.30am to 1pm. Cost is £95. This is a one-and-a-half day course, making a basketry item (or items) of your choice to take home with you. Using foraged wild reed mace (known as bulrush), some of which will be harvested on the day. Loads of samples will be available to inspire you, and tuition will be on hand to guide you through the practicals at every stage. It will be in a great, tucked-away spot, under the trees with a camp fire at Michelham Priory. Suitable for adults of all levels including beginners.
