LORD HEALEY OF RIDDLESDEN: Locally known just as Dennis, died at his home in Alfriston last Saturday at the age of 98 years. Dennis Healey’s obituaries have appeared in all national newspapers and on all radio and television stations extolling his political life but in Alfriston he and his late wife Edna, were very much of this community. He was a larger than life character who had a friendly greeting for everyone, and he will be missed.
SKILLS CAFE: Tomorrow, Saturday from 10am to 4pm, the Skills Cafe will be offering a variety of stands displaying a variety of skills such as welding, quilt making, wood turning - and others. There will also be talks, demonstrations, refreshments and live music. The War Memorial Hall, the Old Chapel Centre and St Andrew’s Church will all be in use for this event.
