Down Your Way: Sovereign Harbour

ON SUNDAY, June 3, Eastbourne’s new Tamar class lifeboat will be the representative of the RNLI, in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant, one of the largest flotillas ever assembled on the river.

MEMBERS of the Eastbourne East Neighbourhood Policing Team will hold a street meeting outside Bright Ideas on the Sovereign Harbour Waterfront, on Thursday February 23, 2pm. The informal meeting, also be supported by members and officers of the borough council and neighbourhood watch. ROADWORKS, which started in Ramsey Way on February 20, continue for 12 weeks. The works, which will introduce traffic calming measures, are expected to cause delays. Alternative routes are available using Princes Road and Prince Williams Parade.

THE Rotary Club of Sovereign Harbour’s Harbour Walk in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind is fast approaching, and early registration would be very helpful. Walkers, and their dogs, can register online by visiting, or by post, by downloading a registration form from the website.

Over the coming weeks, there will be a number of opportunities to sign up in person, including Eastbourne Borough’s home match with Welling United on April 7; look out for other venues.
