Down Your Way:Langney & Shinewater

A FREE course for adults is beginning. ‘Helping Yourself’ will be the phrase of the winter as the workshop begins in November. Shinewater Lane Community Hub hosts the stress-busting, confidence boosting sessions for adults aged 18 and over. The course will run for seven weeks explore new strategies to combat stress, depression, anxiety and build confidence. ‘Helping Yourself’ has been funded by Langney Area Panel and takes place 7pm-9pm on a Thursday from November 8 to December 20. LANGNEY WI is back at St Barnabas Church next Tuesday (June 26) from 7.30pm. Paul Lendon, the former Mayor of Bexhill will be in attendance as your speaker for the evening. He’ll talk in relation to travel and the monthly competition ‘Seaside Postcard’ is on the cards.

ST RICHARDS Church Hall hosts a coffee morning and cake sales on Friday, June 29. Pop in from 10am-11.30am for a dose of caffeine and crumbs in Etchingham Road.

TIMINGS for Langney walk-into Wellbeing behind the shopping centre have changed. You can now visit 10am-1.30pm on a Tuesday, Wednesday, 10am-12.30pm and also on Saturday at those times. New to the shop are the Health Trainers! You can see them 1.30pm- 3.30pm.

ARE YOU an art lover? Then you must go along to see The Chinese Brush Painters of Hellingly at Langney Shopping Centre. They have an Art Exhibition next week, on Thursday 10am-4pm, Friday 9am- 4pm, and finally on Saturday 9am to 3pm. There will be demonstrations along with chances to have a go. THE great and good of Shinewater gathered recently for a meeting to discuss the districts action plan. Headed by neighbourhood management officer, Scott Brunton, much was discussed. A report from the meeting will appear in this column next week.

HOW are you enjoying the new road in Milfoil and Larkspur Drive? I notice a big difference and more importantly, so does my car! The process was pretty painless all in all and I had no difficulties in getting out and going home whilst the works were on. So well done East Sussex Highways!
