Down Your Way Langney - June 6th

ST RICHARD’S Church in Etchingham Road has a coffee morning and cake sale on Friday, June 8, and another on Friday, June 29, 10am-11.30am. If you fancy a cake or two or just want a drink and a chat then you will be most welcome.

TESCO has now stopped issuing school vouchers. Please hand in any vouchers to your child’s form tutor at Causeway by Friday, June 22. Thanks to parents for their support!

THE ECO Group meets fortnightly on a Thursday at Causeway School, 3pm-4-pm and they’re welcoming new members. They’re aiming to achieve the Eco Schools Bronze Award before the end of this academic year. The school is focusing on energy savings and are monitoring lighting usage but they intend to move on to other environmental areas. If your child wants to help find new ways to improve the school’s environmental impact, encourage him/her to join in.

A NEW weekly event has been started here in Langney. Tai Chi will take place on Thursday mornings from Langney Sports in Priory Lane. The class will start at 9.15am and is advertised as a great gentle exercise, in particular for retired people. I’ve experienced Tai Chi before and it’s a great fun! Give it a go. LANGNEY Area Panel held an impromptu meeting last week, after the cancellation of the latest monthly event. Members of the group came together to discuss funding applications and pass a number of worthwhile cases.

A number of really exciting plans were put forward and these will be made aware in due course! What I can say is Langney has a great future in store with some of the ideas put forward. Keep your eyes and ears to open.

DON’T forget to pop down to your local Langney Shopping Centre to see the market on both Tuesdays and Saturdays. Both days will offer a range of stalls selling a range of goods, including herbs and spices, bric-a-brac, tools, meat, clothing ranges and plenty more!

IF YOU’RE living in Milfoil or Larkspur Drive, you most likely woke up to work which started today on relaying the roads. This takes place from 7am-5pm for four days. Access will be maintained, but could be limited at times. The team says you should arrange access locally with the works supervisor or gatemen. On-street parking will also be restricted so you may have to make other arrangements.

Bus routes will also be affected. If you have any issues, ring Highways Contact Centre on 0345 6080193. The service is available Monday to Thursday, 8.30am-5pm, and 8.30am-4.30pm Fridays. For emailing;
