Down Your Way: Langney

AT THE end of last year, ten Year 11 pupils from Bishop Bell School were given the task to create a website and a logo for Sussex Youth Radio.

Local business experts, Adam McNaught-Davis, from Linden East, and Jan, from Pixeldot in Brighton, were on hand to help the group complete the project.

In October, a number of events are taking place at the Priory Road secondary school. On October 4 it’s the Year 7 welcome evening from 5.30pm, academic development day on October 25 and from October 27-30, a trip to Iceland is on the cards.

THE Shinewater Operations group took place last on September 19 and they spoke about different ideas to help improve the community.

The mission statement of the group is to improve the quality of life for the residents of Shinewater/North Langney area of Eastbourne.

The next meeting will be in three to four months time. I will of course let you know when I have a confirmed date for your diaries.

LANGNEY W.I. is holding its monthly meeting tonight (Tuesday) from 7.30pm. The local Women’s Institute is held at St Barnabas Church in Kingfisher Drive (next to the shopping centre) and guest speaker will be John Davey.
