DOWN YOUR WAY (July 31st): Polegate

POLEGATE Residents Association meets at St Johns Church Hall, Polegate on the first Tuesday of each month at 10am for coffee, bingo, raffle, local news and info. As of August 7 there is also an evening meeting at the Junction Tavern, Station Road, Polegate on the first Tuesday of the month from 7pm. Membership is £2.50 per household, which can be paid at either venue or by collection (call 487630). We thank Michelle of the Junction Tavern for hosting the evening meeting.

Walks on August 9 include Golden Martlet, Hellingly, five miles mainly fields, some hills (up and down), nine stiles, with Peter S; or a longer walk of 10 miles on the Downs, undulating downland starting on newest footpath in the National Park, take picnic with Pauline.

COFFEE morning on Saturday, August 11, at Polegate Community Centre, hosted by the Building Fund. This will include a summer hamper, raffle, plus bric-a-brac. All welcome in the lounge, 10am- noon.

POLEGATE Community Centre is available to hire. It comprises hall and stage, lounge, activity room, kitchens, two committee rooms. Enquire at the office, 54 Windsor Way, Polegate, for charges and vacancies, open 10am-noon, and 2pm-4pm, Monday to Friday. Telephone 482434.
