ON Thursday, July 19, the last day of the summer term, pupils of the Haven School in Atlantic Drive assembled for the leavers service, conducted by the Revd. John Brooks. Prizes were awarded to members of “Diamond” class for outstanding achievement. Sovereign Harbour Residents Association chairman, Jan Weeks, presented the community award to Luca Light.

THE Sovereign Harbour Community Market has been temporarily suspended. Market founder, Sam Sweiry, was taken to hospital following an accident at home, and is now recovering at home. We wish him a speedy recovery. When it resumes, the market is every Thursday, 10.30am-noon. FROM July 31-August 30, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1pm -4pm, visitors to the Sovereign Harbour Waterfront will receive free entertainment, at their tables, by a variety of “street entertainers”. The Waterfront Traders have some of the best magicians and balloon artists to show off their talents to amuse and amaze the kids.

LIVE music at the Garden Bar at the Waterfront on Saturday July 27 will be provided by Pavio Honey.

THE small fishing fleet based at Sovereign Harbour is uncertain with the possibility the land they currently occupy (Site 3) will be developed for housing. The fishermen are asking residents for support. To find out more and express support for the local fishing industry visit:

THE “Save the DGH” group wants residents to demonstrate their support, and the strength of feeling they share, by joining them outside the Congress Suite on Saturdayday, July 28, at 10am, before the DGH consultation that will be taking place inside that morning.
