FOLLOWING an event early in the morning of Saturday, August 4, when both the inner and outer lock gates were opened simultaneously, a 3ft surge of water entered the inner harbour. The water detached vessels from their moorings and caused considerable damage to a number of pontoons. Fortunately, there was no injury to boat crews and no serious damage to boats. Marina operator, Premier Marinas, is conducting an investigation .
A CONCERT in support of Eastbourne’s new Tamar Class lifeboat, ‘Diamond Jubilee’, will be held at the King’s Centre, Edison Road, on Friday, September 7, starting 7.30pm (doors open 6.45pm).
