DOWN YOUR WAY (August 14th) - Sovereign Harbour

FOLLOWING an event early in the morning of Saturday, August 4, when both the inner and outer lock gates were opened simultaneously, a 3ft surge of water entered the inner harbour. The water detached vessels from their moorings and caused considerable damage to a number of pontoons. Fortunately, there was no injury to boat crews and no serious damage to boats. Marina operator, Premier Marinas, is conducting an investigation .

A CONCERT in support of Eastbourne’s new Tamar Class lifeboat, ‘Diamond Jubilee’, will be held at the King’s Centre, Edison Road, on Friday, September 7, starting 7.30pm (doors open 6.45pm). The Lewes, Glynde and Beddingham Brass Band will play a variety of music.
