Delays possible as works start on major road projects

Motorists from Eastbourne could face delays next week as work begins on a number of projects around East Sussex.

Work to improve footpaths on the A27 in Selmeston will see a two-way traffic light in place between the Salvidge Service Station and the Village Road junction.

The lights will be in place overnight, between 8pm and 5am, for five nights from Monday February 1.

The A281/A23 slip road in Pyecombe will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, during the same period.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the London-bound A23.

Work to improve safety on the M23 at junction 9 will also start next week.

The coastbound exit slip road and one lane of the M23 coastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 4am, on Monday, February 1. The coastbound entry slip road will also be closed overnight.

A diversion will be in place via junction 10 and the A2011.

Lane closures will be in place on the London-bound entry and exit slip roads overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Tuesday February 2.

A27 Falmer Footbridge, East Sussex: bridge maintenance

Work to replace the ramp on the footbridge over the A27 at Falmer will begin next week. The westbound exit slip road at the Falmer interchange will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Monday February 1. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A27.

M23 junction 10, West Sussex: carriageway investigation

Work to improve safety on the M23 at junction 10 will start next week. The London-bound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Wednesday 3 February for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M23. In addition, there will be a lane closure on the M23 coastbound slip road.

Work to improve road user safety on the A23 will startnext week.

Two way temporary traffic lights will be in place on the London-bound exit slip road at Hickstead overnight, between 7pm and 6am, on Wednesday February 3. Temporary traffic lights will be in place on the roundabout between the London-bound entry and exit slip roads overnight, between 7pm and 6am, on Thursday February 4.
