Cub Scouts from across Eastbourne took part in the annual Oakleaf Hike Challenge.
The event is a 15km hike using map reference points and a compass. A total of 14 teams of four Cubs, aged eight to ten years, hiked across footpaths and woodlands from Bushy Wood to Upper Dicker, Chalvington and Abbots Wood. The Cubs used the navigation skills to complete various challenges at the checkpoints.
Carl Bird, assistant district commissioner for Cub Scouts, said, “This was a tremendous achievement and all the Cubs should be proud of their efforts.”
