Woman injured in town centre hit-and-run

Police are investigating a hit-and-run where a woman was injured in Eastbourne town centre.

The incident, according to police, happened in Terminus Road near the Trinity Trees junction at 12pm on Thursday (March 12), which left the woman with minor injuries while the perpetrator fled the scene in their vehicle.

A police spokesman said officers temporarily closed the road while emergency services attended.

A SECAmb spokesperson said, “A person was checked over at the scene and declined to go to hospital as they had only minor injuries.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to report it to police online or call 101, quoting serial 531 of 12/03.
