Two teens charged with murder of Chris Poole appear in court

TWO teenagers have been charged with murder after a 46-year-old man died after being attacked outside a shop.

Chris Poole was punched and kicked in the head during a row with a group of teens moments after he left the Premier convenience store in Hydneye on Thursday evening.

He died from his injuries the following day and police arrested three local youngsters in connection with the attack.

One of those, a 13-year-old, has been released on bail, but the other two appeared at Eastbourne Magistrates Court today (Monday).

Shane Noble, 19, of no fixed abode, was in the dock only to answer his name and hear the court clerk read the charge of murder. He was remanded in custody until tomorrow when he will appear at Lewes Crown Court.

The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons but is the brother of a 13-year-old also involved in the altercation, will join him at Lewes tomorrow after being remanded into the custody of the local authority with a specific security requirement.

Mr Poole suffered bruising below his left ear, a fractured right cheekbone and a broken jaw consistent with being punched and kicked in the head.

His death shocked the Hampden Park area of Eastbourne this weekend.
