Eastbourne Detective Tod Stewart confirmed a male was arrested on Saturday (February 29) on suspicion of a more than £100,000 Rolex watch robbery at the W Bruford jewellers on January 27.

Following interview Dylan Evans, 40 from Brent, has been charged and remanded to court over the robbery, the Detective Sergeant said.

This comes after two men were sentenced to eight years in prison last Thursday (Feburary 27) over the crime.

The incident saw four masked men, one said to be armed with a pickaxe or hammer, enter the jewellers at 10am that morning.

They made off with 15 Rolex watches worth between £100,000-£150,000 and a major police search was launched.

Two of the suspects were found following a helicopter search on the Cuckoo Trail near Station Road.
