Police step up patrols in Hailsham after antisocial behaviour and antisocial driving

Police have increased patrols in Hailsham following reports of antisocial behaviour and antisocial driving.

Wealden police said on Facebook that additional patrols in the town have been in place for the past few weeks.

A spokesman said: “A Section 59 warning was issued to a male on the A22 who was speeding and undertaking other vehicles on the road.

“An E-scooter was seized under Section 59, after it was being ridden along Hailsham High Street.

“The driver of the silver car was wheel spinning through the streets in Hailsham. When he was stopped it became clear that he only had a provisional licence.

“The vehicle was seized and he was issued a TOR (traffic offence report) from driving otherwise in accordance with a licence.

“Patrols will continue to address your concerns, please continue to report any antisocial behaviour or antisocial driving.”
