Motorist attacked by three moped riders in St Leonards

A MOTORIST was attacked in a brazen daylight attack by three moped riders in St Leonards.

The man was driving home from work when he was assaulted by the riders on Sedlescombe Road North in St Leonards.

According to Sussex Police, the three mopeds were being driven behind his car, driving erratically, while swerving and trying to overtake on both sides of his vehicle.

One of the mopeds collided with his car, causing the rider to fall off. He got out of his car to see if the rider was okay but the three riders attacked him, punching him to the face and body causing a cut lip.

During the altercation, one of the riders took the victim’s cars keys from his ignition and then all of the mopeds left the scene, leaving him stranded with his Peugeot 106 car at the top of Sedlescombe Road North.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident which took place at around 4.15pm on Monday afternoon (June 11th).

The victim didn’t manage to get a description of the suspects, who were all wearing crash helmets, or their vehicles.
