A 23-YEAR-OLD has been fined after being found in possession of cannabis.
Sean Johnson, formerly of Wharf Road, Eastbourne, but now of Maple Road, Penge, Londonhad his property searched after police were called to an incident.
Eastbourne magistrates heard that officers found 21g of the class B drug in a container in a kitchen cabinet. Johnson pleaded guilty to the offence at a hearing on June 22. The court heard Johnson had later admitted the drugs were for his own personal use.
David Alexander, defending, said, “He doesn’t have any means at the moment. He lives with his mother, she supports him. It’s an early guilty plea, please give him credit.”
Johnson was fined £100 and must pay £85 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge. Magistrates also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drug.
