February 17:

Kieron Church, 29, of Rye Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to driving a Peugeot vehicle on Pevensey Road, Eastbourne, on December 20, while more than twice over the drink-drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 92 micrograms. The legal limit is 35 micrograms. He also pleaded guilty to driving dangerously on Pevensey Road, Eastbourne, on the same date. He was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, suspended for one year. Magistrates said the reason for the sentence was that the offence involved a high alcohol level and driving at high speeds in a built-up area, involving a serious collision. The court made a community order with a requirement to attend a drink-impaired drivers programme. He was banned from driving for two years.

Shannon Kidman, 19, of The Drive, Hellingly, indicated pleas of guilty to eight charges of assaulting nursing staff and care workers. The offences took place at Hellingly between May 11 and September 24. She was given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay a total of £500 in compensation.

February 18:

Christopher Sherwood, 32, of Brodrick Road, Hampden Park, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. The offence took place at Eastbourne on December 23. He was fined £100 and detained in the courthouse for a period.

Lukasz Niewiem, 38, of no fixed address, was found guilty of being in possession of a folding knife in a public place at Trinity Trees, Eastbourne, on January 4. He was also found guilty of being in possession of a Stanley knife at Trinity Trees on the same date. He pleaded guilty to using an Audi vehicle on Trinity Trees, Eastbourne, on January 4, with no insurance and to being in possession of a quantity of amphetamine. He was committed to Lewes Crown Court for sentencing.

Georgina McCrystal, 32, of Fountains Close, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to obstructing a police officer. 
The offence took place at Eastbourne on November 2. She was given a one-year conditional discharge.

February 19:

Anthony Giles, 26, of Aynam Road, Kendal, Cumbria, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle on Seaside Road, Eastbourne, on August 24 with cannabis in his bloodstream, He was fined £120 and banned from driving for 16 months.

Benjamin Carter, 44, of Mill Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle on Rodmill Drive, Eastbourne, on January 30, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 58 micrograms. The legal limit is 35 micrograms. He was fined £120 and banned from driving for 16 months.

Gareth James, 21, of Moy Avenue, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Fiesta on Seaside Road, Eastbourne, on January 30, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 49 micrograms. 
The legal limit is 35 micrograms. He was fined £330 and banned from driving for 14 months.

Simon Kristnen, 32, of Langney Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to stealing £800 of items from Morrisons, at Eastbourne, between March 17 and April 17 last year. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £800 in compensation.

Dean McCarthy, 46, of Broadway, Fairlight, indicated guilty pleas to charges of being in possession of heroin and cocaine at Eastbourne, on June 21. He was fined £50.

Lee Bint, 32, of Croxden Way, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Mini vehicle on Ramsay Way, Eastbourne, on January 16 with cannabis in his bloodstream. 
He also pleaded guilty to driving with cocaine in his blood stream on the same date. 
He was fined £120 for each offence and banned from driving for 12 months.
