July 14:

Howard Smith, 45, of Ringwood Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall vehicle on Eastbourne Road, Eastbourne, on October 3 last year, with cannabis in his bloodstream. He also pleaded guilty to driving with no insurance on the same date. 
He was fined £780 and banned from driving for one year.

Michael Ridgeway, 30, of Brodrick Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. The offence took place at Eastbourne on October 22 last year. The court made a community order with a requirement of 120 hours of unpaid work.

Anthony James, 44, of Devalls Close, London, indicated a plea of guilty to being in possession of items for use in the course of, or in connection with, theft, namely two false vehicle registration plates. The offence took place at Pevensey on February 2. He was given a one-year conditional discharge.

Luke Hawes, 22, of Ditchling Way, Hailsham, indicated a plea of guilty of being in communication with a person under the age of 16 for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification. The offence took place at Hastings between August 27 and September 2 2017. The court made a community order with a requirement of 200 hours of unpaid work. Magistrates also imposed a five year Sexual Harm Prevention Order prohibiting him from having any contact with a child under the age of 18, other than in the course of lawful daily life, and banning him from using any device which can connect to the internet, unless it has the capacity to retain and display history of use.

Jayson Passey, 47, of Otham Court Lane, Polegate, pleaded guilty to causing damage to a wardrobe door at Eastbourne on December 4 last year. He also indicated guilty pleas to two charges of assaulting police officers at Eastbourne on the same date and pleaded guilty to causing £50 damage to a necklace belonging to one of the police officers. He was given a one-year conditional discharge, fined £80 and ordered to pay £50 compensation.

Kurtis Sear, 20, of Malvern Way Hastings, pleaded guilty to stealing a bottle of baileys chocolate liquor, worth £12, from Waitrose at Eastbourne on December 4 last year. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £12 compensation.

Jack Tilley, 23, of Etchingham Road, Eastbourne, indicated a plea of guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis at Eastbourne on March 14. He also indicated a plea of guilty to obstructing a police officer on the same date. He was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 in compensation.

July 16:

Lee Bennell, 34, of Alverstone Close, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. The offence took place at Acacia Road, Eastbourne on April 12. He was given a two-year conditional discharge.

Richard Perry, 31, of Clarence Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place at Terminus Road, Eastbourne, on May 31. He was fined £50.

Jack Corbett, 21, of Carisbrooke Close, Eastbourne, indicated guilty pleas to offences of being in possession of cannabis and cocaine at Cornfield Terrace, Eastbourne, on May 17. He was given a two year conditional discharge.

Kieron Egerton, 23, of Tintern Close, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. 
The offence took place at Cornfield Terrace, Eastbourne, on April 7. He also pleaded guilty to contravening coronavirus lockdown ruled by being away from his home for a non-essential reason and failing to comply with instructions from police to return home. He was given a two year conditional discharge.

Levantica Mihai, 26, of Hoe Lane, Enfield, Middlesex, indicated guilty pleas to two charges of fraud by making dishonest false representation. 
The offences, which took place at Hailsham in 2015, involved claims that she was a Moldavian who was brought up in a children’s home, before living on the streets for two years and that her identity documents were stolen and she needed money to pay for the funeral of her twin and for a kidney stone operation. She was committed to Lewes Crown Court for sentencing on August 13 and released on unconditional bail.

July 21:

Christopher Bennett, 32, of St Philips Avenue, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis when required to do so by police under the Road Traffic Act 1988. The offence took place at Eastbourne on December 18 last year. He also pleaded guilty to driving with no licence or insurance on Seaside Road, Eastbourne, on the same date. 
He was fined £160 and banned from driving for one year.

Harry Dunn, 20, of The Rising, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford vehicle on Prince William Parade, Eastbourne, on October 25 last year, with the controlled drug benzoylecgonine in his blood stream. 
He also pleaded guilty to being in possession of cannabis at Eastbourne on the same date. He was fined a total of £320 and banned from driving for one year.

Jason Cooper, 48, of Larkspur Drive, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Dacia Duster vehicle on the B2247 at Westham, Stone Cross, on April 25, while more than twice over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 94 micrograms. 
The legal limit is 35 micrograms. The court made a community order with a requirement of 60 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for two years.
