An HGG driver has been arrested and charged after being caught more than double the drink-drive limit on the A27 at Beddingham, police said.

Sebastiao Martins De Pinho failed a roadside breath test after being stopped on the A27 at 9.48pm on Tuesday (March 17), said Sussex Police.

He was subsequently arrested and charged with driving with 86mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system. The legal limit is 35mcg.

The 48-year-old, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (March 18), said a police spokesman.
