Eastbourne man in court over attempted crowbar robbery

A 26-year-old Eastbourne man has appeared in court in connection with an attempted robbery in 2019.

Oscar Powell was sentenced at Lewes Crown Court recently after admitting his part in the incident.

Armed with a crowbar, he tried to rob a person in Gore Park Road on the night of May 25 2019, according to Sussex Police.

Powell, of Terminus Road, pleaded guilty and was given a 15 month prison sentence which was suspended for 18 months.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £140.
