Eastbourne charity shop broken into

A charity shop in Eastbourne was broken into at the beginning of the week, according to police.

A spokesperson from Sussex Police said the door to St Wilfrid’s Hospice charity shop on Terminus Road was found open and damaged on the morning of Tuesday, July 13.

According to police nothing was taken from the shop. (239 of 13/07)

A residential flat in Golden Gate Way was also broken into in the late evening of July 13.

The spokesperson said, “Cash has been targeted following a known suspect who has forced entry to a rear door of the premises.

“Enquiries are being conducted by police. 1504 of 13/07 relates.”

Police suggest a number of steps to protect homes and businesses against burglaries including installing alarm systems and CCTV cameras.
