Breaking News: Teenagers robbed in Willingdon

A TEENAGE boy and girl were robbed as they walked along Freshwater Square in Willingdon at the weekend.

The 15-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl were approached by three older boys at around 7.20pm on Saturday March 17.

The trio demanded money and mobile phones from their two victims before hitting the boy in the face with a baseball bat and driving off in a silver Astra car. The 16-year-old girl was not injured in the robbery.

Detective Constable Andy Mountford-Laker from East Sussex CID said, “Both victims were incredibly shaken by this awful incident, particularly the boy who was knocked to the ground and received cuts and bruises to his face and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

“Once reported officers immediately conducted an area search, house to house inquires were made and we are continuing to view CCTV in attempt to find those responsible for this nasty attack.”

The suspects were all white and between 17-19 years old. The one with the baseball bat is described as around 5’ 11”, of medium build and was wearing a blue Adidas hooded top with three stripes on the arms, blue trousers and blue and white trainers.

A second suspect is described as 5’ 11”, and the third one of slim build and was wearing a burgundy hoody, blue jeans and blue trainers with white laces and soles.
