A PAIR of talented students from Eastbourne College were named among the top craftsmen at the recent South of England Show. Jasmine Williamson-Persh and Matthew Prifi were both praised for their work by judges at the event’s Young Craftsman of the Year contest. Matthew came second in the wood section while Jasmine won the design and technology category.
The competition was in its 25th year and committee chairman Sarah Peay helped run the rule over the youngsters a quarter of a century after her late father, Jim Green, helped jointly found it.
Mrs Peay said, “What I enjoy most about it is meeting the youngsters and getting to know them over the few days of the show and finding out what they plan to do in the future.”
