The publication of an inspection report on the East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust has been delayed until mid-February.
Eastbourne MP Stephen Lloyd expressed his disappointment after being told the Care Quality Commission (CQC) report into the inspection of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (ESHT) has been delayed for the second time.
A team of CQC inspectors visited the Eastbourne DGH and Conquest Hospital in Hastings in September last year. The publication of the inspection report was originally due to be published before Christmas, but the CQC said it would be delayed until mid-January. Now it has said the report won’t be published for another month.
MP Stephen Lloyd said, “I am disappointed to hear that the report into our local hospital has been delayed yet again.
“The CQC have told me there should be no further issues with the publication of the report in February, and I will be very concerned if it is delayed for a third time!
“Healthcare is a vital issue for people in Eastbourne and the surrounding area, and I will continue to do all I can to ensure that we have the core services we need in our town.
“There are challenges at the DGH and in the community NHS, we all know that, but it is essential this important report into ESHT is published soon.”
