The following are court results from Hastings Magistrates Court covering the Eastbourne area from December 8 - 10.
Michael Coupe (aged 34), of Ratton Road, Eastbourne, was sent to prison for four weeks after being found guilty of assaulting a woman by beating. The offence took place at Bradford Street, Eastbourne, on October 25. The court also issued a restraining order and ordered him to pay £600 costs. Magistrates said the reason for the sentence was because of previous convictions.
Joanne Evan (aged 50), of Osram Court, London, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly at Eastbourne Law Courts on November 18. She also pleaded guilty to being in possession of six grams of herbal cannabis on the same day. She was fined £90. Reece Jones (aged 22), of Old School Close, Polegate, was sent to prison for a total of 20 weeks after pleading guilty to assaulting a woman by beating. The offence took place at Eastbourne on November 22. He also pleaded guilty to two other charges of assault on the same day, damaging hotel furniture at Premiere Inn, Eastbourne, and obstructing a police officer. Magistrates said the reason for the prison sentence was because of the ‘serious nature of the offences against employees carrying out a job’ and that he was in breach of an earlier suspended sentence. Timothy Kilshaw (aged 42), of Hayland Green, Hailsham, pleaded guilty to driving a Renault panel van on Dittons Road, Eastbourne, on November 21, while over the drink drive limit. He gave an alcohol breath reading of 60mg. The legal limit is 35mg. He was fined £470 and banned from driving for 17 months. Zachary Jarvis (aged 23), of Latimer Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to damaging a vehicle windscreen and a charge of assault by beating. The offences took place on September 20 at Eastbourne. He was given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £70 compensation. Andrius Litvina-Vicius (aged 19), of Wakehurst Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to failing to stop after an accident, in which another vehicle was damaged, and failing to report an accident. The accident happened at Hyde Gardens 0n September 19. He was fined £20 and his driving record was endorsed with eight penalty points. Michael Tutt (aged 22), of Kings Drive, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving an Audi car on Foxglove Road after taking cannabis. He also pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis. He was banned from driving for 16 months.
Paul Thompson, (aged 54), of Fareham, Hampshire, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle at Lion Hill, Stone Cross, while more than twice over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 109mg. He was banned for two years and given a community order with 80 hours unpaid work.
