February 29:

Jane Wright, 36, of Canute Close, Eastbourne, was found guilty of using threatening behaviour. The offence occurred at Eastbourne on September 30. The court made a community order with an electronically monitored curfew for 12 weeks between 7pm and 6am and ordered her to pay £60 compensation. Magistrates also issued a restraining order.

March 1:

Samantha Bradley, 31, of Midhurst Road, Eastbourne, was found guilty of assault by beating. The offence took place at Eastbourne on May 15 last year. The court made a community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement and ordered her to pay £50 compensation.

Stuart Watson, 41, of Gilda Crescent, Polegate, was found guilty of assault by beating. The offence took place at Polegate on August 9. The court made a community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement and ordered him to pay £50 compensation.

Kayleigh Battams, 22, of Snodland, Kent, was sentenced to 32 weeks in prison for a series of offences. She pleaded guilty to sexually touching a man over 16 at Tesco in Hailsham on November 30 and to stealing cosmetics, food and alcohol, worth £63.03 from Tesco, at Hailsham, on the same date. She also pleaded guilty to racially aggravated assault by beating at Tesco, Hailsham, on November 30. She pleaded guilty to a further charge of assault at Lewes Railway Station on November 14 and to being in breach of a suspended sentence for two charges of criminal damage.

March 2:

Aaron Desborough, 20, of Stanier Street, Hailsham, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer. The offence took place at Hailsham on February 15. He also pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Corsa on South Road, London Road, and Hempstead Lane, Hailsham, on February 6, without due care and attention, failing to stop when required by police and to driving with no insurance or test certificate. The court made a community order and fined him a total of £180.

Dean Gray, 34, of no fixed address, was sent to prison for four weeks after pleading guilty to four charges of thefts from shops. He admitted stealing meat worth £109.82 from Co-op at Eastbourne on February 12; stealing whisky and beer worth £73 from Iceland on February 7; and a bottle of alcohol from Waitrose, in Eastbourne, on the same date. Magistrates said the reason for the prison sentence was because of persistent offences of theft and being in breach of post-sentence supervision.

Ross Huggett, 48, of Westfield Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Renault vehicle on the A27 Polegate Bypass while over the drink-drive limit. He gave a blood alcohol reading of 124 milligrammes. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes. He was fined £500 and banned from driving for a year.

Daniel Iggleden, 32, of Leaf Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Seat vehicle on Gildredge Road, Eastbourne, on February 14, while over the drink-drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 53 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. He was fined £280 and banned from driving for one year.

Daniel Jones, 29, of Langney Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to stealing deodorant and shampoo worth £10.76, from Co-op at Seaside Road, Eastbourne, on January 31. He was given a one year conditional discharge and ordered to pay compensation of £10.76.

Gavin Mullaney, 23, of Beckley Road, Nottingham, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle at Cavendish Place, Eastbourne, on February 13, while twice over the drink-drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 78 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. He also pleaded guilty to being in possession of an offensive weapon at Cavendish Road, on the same day. He was fined £200 and banned from driving for 20 months. The court also made a community order with a requirement for 250 hours of unpaid work.

Amy Furminger, 27, of no fixed address, was jailed for four weeks after pleading guilty to two charges of theft and two charges of attempted theft from shops at Eastbourne and Polegate between January 25 and February 12. Magistrates said the reason for a custodial sentence was because of persistent theft.

Michael McCabe, 42, of Ingram Crescent, Hove, pleaded guilty to assault by beating and causing damage to a patio door belonging to Mount Lodge. The offences took place at Upper Avenue, Eastbourne, on February 16. He was given an 18-month conditional discharge.

Troy Levett, 50, of Eden Close, Stone Cross, Pevensey, pleaded guilty to two charges of assaulting a woman by beating. The offences took place on January 31 at Stone Cross. The court made a community order and fined him £100.

James King, 44, of Wadhurst Close, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to stealing a bottle of Champagne from Marks and Spencer, Eastbourne, on November 30. The court made a community order.
